A research and development practice done together with my students. The theme was to use art as a communication tool — expressing who we are through symbolism and visual storytelling.
For this artwork, I combined a bee and a pencil to represent myself as a “Busy Art Teacher”. The pencil symbolises the most basic yet essential tool in my profession, while the bee reflects the constant busyness and dedication in teaching and creating.
I truly enjoyed going through this creative journey alongside my students. I often tell them, “I will suffer with you,” but honestly, it was never suffering for me. I enjoyed every part of the process — the brainstorming, research, experimentation, and finally completing the artwork using colour pencils.
I titled this piece Every Little Important Things, as a reminder that even the smallest tools, moments, and efforts can hold great meaning in our lives.
